This is the second book set in St Lucia, in the first book we met Ella and Millie who are chefs and Zach who is the estate manager of the plantation. Millie ends up running the first cookery course all by herself, as we know Millie is often in unfortunate circumstances. Millie is a highly relatable character. She always tries to make the best out of any situation and much like in the first book, in Confetti and Confusion, there is obviously a problem. Millie has to recover a wedding when it all looks like it could go very wrong. I am not sure which book I enjoyed more, but with Confetti and Confusion there is definitely a bit more going on in the sense of plot and problems to overcome which I enjoyed reading.
Confetti and Confusion is definitely a quick summer read. Shorter than the first book, but just as enjoyable. The friendships and relationships in this novel are what makes it in my opinion. Daisy James writes realistic characters and believable friendships. Also the lush descriptive scenery of St Lucia and the cookery is very welcome. It will warm the cockles of any cold heart, you can’t help but smile as you read.
This second instalment in the series, lives up to the first, with all the wedding excitement, beautifully descriptive food and of course the infectiously upbeat Millie, it was hard not to enjoy! I definitely recommend if you love summery beach reads, don’t miss the next one in the series, and I can't wait to read what happens with Millie and Zach. This is one of my favourite reads of the year so far.
The next instalment Mistletoe & Memories is out Sep 2018!
