Hygge is the 'Danish word used when acknowledging a feeling or moment, whether alone or with friends, at home or out, ordinary or extraordinary as cosy, charming or special.' and I am all for it.
I have recently read 'The little Book of Hygge' and I can't get enough of it. Everyone seems to get the January blues, but after introducing a couple of Hygge steps daily, I can confirm that my January has been less blue and more 'hyggelig'.
'The Little Book of Hygge' contains advice to add a little bit of hygge to each day. From lighting more candles (Denmark is the leader in candle to person ration) and just being in the moment and enjoying company with good friends and family. Put simply it is about enjoying the little things and savouring it and encompassing it into your everyday routine.
To me, Hygge means warm sunsets, cozy hot chocolate, reading sessions and the harry potter series (by screen or by book) What does Hygge mean to you?
